Siri, Shortcuts, and automations
Ten phrases that work the moment you install Kept, a full catalog of actions for the Shortcuts app, and recipes worth stealing.
Nearly everything you do in Kept is also an action in the Shortcuts app. That means Siri can run them, automations can schedule them, and you can chain them into things we never thought of.
Say it to Siri
Ten phrases work with no setup. Each has a few variations; all of them name Kept.
| Say | What happens |
|---|---|
| "Capture in Kept" | Opens Capture ready to type, or files what you dictate |
| "Add a task in Kept" | Creates a task from what you say |
| "Add a note in Kept" | Saves a note |
| "Log a meal in Kept" | Opens the meal camera |
| "Start focus in Kept" | Starts a 25-minute session |
| "Complete my next habit in Kept" | Checks off the next open habit and tells you how many are kept |
| "What's my habit status in Kept" | Reads today's habits: kept so far, next up |
| "What's next in Kept" | Names your next event and its time |
| "Log a workout in Kept" | Records a workout by name |
| "Reflect in Kept" | Takes your words and saves them as a dated reflection note |
Answers are spoken and shown as a card. You kept 4 of 6. Next up: Ten minutes of mobility. Capture, Search Kept, and Find Notes ask you to unlock the phone first.
Build your own in Shortcuts
Open the Shortcuts app, tap +, and search for Kept. The catalog covers tasks, events, notes, habits, goals, body, training, focus, search, and opening any surface. Read actions return lists you can count and loop over, or a single value where one makes more sense, such as a habit count or the next event; create actions return the thing they made.
| Family | Actions |
|---|---|
| Tasks | Create, Complete, Reopen, Reschedule, Set Priority, Move to Goal, Delete, Find, Open |
| Events | Create, Reschedule, Cancel, Find, Get Next Event, Open |
| Notes | Create, Append, Find, Open, Reflect |
| Habits | Complete, Uncomplete, Find, Complete Next, Get Habits Status, Add a habit |
| Goals | Create, Find, Get Progress |
| Body | Log Meal by Name, Find Meals, Log Workout, Find Workouts, Snap Meal |
| Focus | Start Focus with any minutes, Find Focus Sessions, Get Focus Status |
| Status | Get Today Summary, Get Nutrition Status, Get Identity Status |
| Open | Open Kept at Today, Calendar, Tasks, Body, Notes, Capture, Log a meal, or Snap a meal; open a task, an event, or a note; Search Kept |
Shortcuts' own Ask Each Time input works with any field that varies.

What runs without opening the app
Reads such as Find Tasks and Today Summary answer from a snapshot on the device, so they are instant and work offline. Writes such as Complete Task or Create Note queue on the device and flush the moment the app wakes. A few actions, such as Log a meal, open the app to the right place because they need the camera.
Safety
Delete Task and Cancel Event always ask you to confirm, whoever calls them. Find Notes, Search Kept, Capture, and Complete Next Habit require the device to be unlocked. With Cloud AI off, every action that would reach the cloud stays on the device or opens the app instead. Body actions respect the module switch: with Body off, "Log a meal in Kept" says so and points at Settings. On Mac the set is smaller: Capture, Log a meal, Start focus, Complete next habit, and Open Today.
