Welcome to Kept

What Kept is, the promise behind it, and the three moves that run the whole app.

Kept is a place to put what you mean to do, and a way to actually do it. You write one line. Kept files it as a task, an event, or a note, sets it beside your calendar, and shows you the three things that matter today. Over weeks, the record of what you kept becomes something you can point to.

You are reading the guide for Kept 1.8 on iPhone and Mac. Both apps share one account, so anything you capture on your phone is on your Mac within moments of either being online, and the other way around. A third chapter covers connecting the AI you already use, so it can read and write your Kept with your permission.

What Kept holds

PartWhat it is for
CaptureOne line in, the right thing out. The habit everything else is built on.
TodayThe day at a glance: your calendar, your Top 3, and the habits you are keeping.
TasksEverything open, with the three that lead your day named and explained.
NotesA calm editor for writing that should outlive the moment it was written in.
HabitsThe practices you repeat, with honest timing and no punishing streaks.
GoalsThe reasons behind the work, linked to the tasks and habits that move them.
CalendarApple and Google calendars beside what you plan.
BodyMeals, sleep, and training, and the trends that follow.
The RecordA quiet ledger of the days you kept your word.

Body is optional and chosen during setup. The Record is arriving gradually across beta accounts, so yours may not show it yet.

Three moves that run the whole app

  1. Capture. Tap the round button on iPhone, or press Space on your Mac from inside any app. Type what is on your mind and add it. Kept decides where it goes, and shows you the decision so you can change it.
  2. Read Today. Open Kept and look at Today. It tells you what is next on your calendar, which three tasks lead the day and why, and which habits are still open.
  3. Check things off. Swipe a task, tap a habit, finish a focus session. Each one lands on the Record.

Learn those three and you can ignore the rest of this guide until you are curious.
